Route:
A few years ago, in Val di Rabbi, they built an amazing suspended bridge over a terrific waterfall. You may be a little scared at first but the fear will pass immediately! After a few meters from the Plan car park, you can see the bridge above the Ragaiolo stream. Before starting our climb, we will visit the old Venetian sawmill that still works today with the sole power of water force, thanks to the use of the slider-crank mechanism. After a short and intense climb across forests of blueberry plants, we will get to the Tibetan Bridge. Now it’s time to cross the suspended bridge. Our hike continues up to Fratte Cottage among red firs and larches. After some must-take photos, and being suspended in the air crossing the bridge, we will continue on to the Fratte Cottage, where we will have lunch. The forests finish and the green pastures open in the rural landscape of the Val di Rabbi. You can extend your hike to the Stablaz Bassa Cottage. We will return along a convenient road, breathing in the scents of the forest.
Curiosity:
Built in 2015, the Tibetan Bridge is suspended over the waterfall of Rio Ragaiolo; the bridge, being 50 m high, 80 cm wide and longer than 100 m, gives you the sensation of being immersed in the mountains. It’s a modern steel bridge that can be crossed safely. Its high guardrails allow you to experience the thrill of crossing without being put in any danger.
