Route:
When somebody visits the Pejo Valley, Pian Palù is an unmissable destination: it’s an artificial lake both charming and popular. What is not so well known is Lagostel, the other lake just above Pian Palù; it’s much smaller but much more beautiful and natural. Like its name suggests, Lagostel Lake (2,460 m a.s.l.) is a small mountain lake in the middle of nothing and immersed in peaceful nature. I will always remember the first time I had been there: it was full of dragonflies. The hike is quite long but not difficult. Along the way, we will see two cottages where there are usually cows and shepherds and maybe we will be lucky enough to spot some wild animals. The loop trail goes up from Pian Palù lake and, from the top, the view will be even more beautiful and we will be able to tell that we have been there.
Curiosity:
Lagostel means small lake. If we could try to add up how many small lakes are in the Trentino region, we would lose count… but this lake is named Lagostel with a capital L and it is in our little Pejo Valley!
